Gas sensor technology firm Alphasense says it has launched a completely redesigned version of its LFO2 oxygen sensor, described as a new generation of long-life oxygen sensor that “reflects a step forward in balancing precision, sustainability, and adaptability to meet modern sensing needs”.
The long-life LFO2 sensors are said to result from a reimagined approach to design and manufacturing, addressing the evolving requirements of industries while maintaining the firm’s focus on reliability. Three models — the LFO2-A1, LFO2-AL, and LFO2-AH —appear to provide solutions tailored to a diverse range of applications, from monitoring oxygen in high concentrations to measuring minimal oxygen levels.
“The new LFO2 series demonstrates Alphasense’s commitment to pushing the boundaries of sensor technology and delivering products that meet both quality and environmental standards,” said Ronan Baron, Technical Director at Alphasense. “We have redefined every aspect of our design and manufacturing process for these sensors to ensure that customers can trust their LFO2 sensor to perform accurately and consistently, from the first use to its final day. When customers open a tray of the new LFO2 sensors, they can count on the same performance and reliability that Alphasense is known for.”
According to the group, updates include robust design, increased durability and power efficiency, along with options designed to suit specific operational demands. The LFO2-A1, a direct replacement for existing long-life amperometric oxygen gas sensors, including the Alphasense LFO2-A4, measures oxygen concentrations ranging from 0-30% and offers, while the LFO2-AL is optimised for low power consumption, measuring oxygen concentrations ranging from 0-95%. Completing the series is the LFO2-AH which is crafted for high precision in detecting oxygen concentrations as low as 0-2%.
